CannaCraft Joins COVID-19 Fight

Flattening the coronavirus curve will take a group effort. Technology is key to keeping the workforce at home, and the entire alphabet soup that is cloud will be vital. But what is essential? After a week engaged with the state of California going back and forth on the health and safety protocols within the cannabis supply chain, California cannabis businesses have been deemed essential. One such cannabis business is giving back.

CannaCraft announced that it is repurposing a section of its production and manufacturing space to formulate and package hand sanitizer. The large-scale cannabis manufacturer trialed the program last week with customers and employees, and will leverage its wholly owned distribution arm, Kind House Distribution to donate the hand sanitizer to non-profits, employees, customers and essential businesses.

Head of R&D at CannaCraft Matthew Elmes, Ph. D. developed the hand sanitizer, and currently the batch is being mobilized by a limited production team. CannaGraft has taken precautions to ensure minimal human to human interactions to better protect team members.
"We are doing everything we can to protect our employees and our communities by adhering to guidelines and directives from officials and experts. At the same time, we are uniquely positioned to help in other ways because we have manufacturing equipment, scientific expertise, and a statewide distribution network built into our business," said Jim Hourigan, CannaCraft CEO. "When we started hearing reports of a shortage in hand sanitizer, we knew that we could be of assistance without negatively impacting our employees or our operations."

Community will prove to fight back COVID-19 or allow it to fester and feast. As we work together to create a new normal – at least for the time being – it’s nice to see companies put people first. From 3M to McLaren, it takes a village.
